Gender inequality is a persistent issue in the field of sociology and gender overview. In summary, this inequality is reflected in social structure, power distribution, educational opportunities and career development.


Suggestions

A novel and interesting suggestion for this issue is to promote "gender equality education", that is, to add gender equality courses to all levels of education, so that students can establish the concept of gender equality from an early age and promote mutual respect and understanding between genders.


Problems

However, when implementing this suggestion, it is far from enough for us to open courses. Teachers must have the awareness and ability of gender equality, and students must be able to apply what they have learned to daily life and social practice. In addition, the formation mechanism of gender stereotypes and how to break these stereotypes through education and publicity can be further explored.

This blog is a digital forum where students from Spring 2024 class in Invitation to Sociology at the Hanyang University in Korea will discuss their weekly readings and activities.
