 Why money can’t buy happiness

A) I saw a lecture on why money can't buy happiness. The answer was expectations. When people's expectations reach a certain level, the probability that they will decrease is low and the probability that they will increase is very high. I also thought about an example of this. In my current situation where I am looking for a part-time job, when I first got a part-time job, I just wanted to do it, so I didn't mind paying the minimum wage, and I was very happy when I got the part-time job. However, when I quit that part-time job and looked for a new part-time job, my expectations have already been met, so I try to find a part-time job that pays more than the minimum wage. The minimum wage that was set at that time is currently higher, and it will continue to increase as it is met. Thinking about this experience, the lecture that money can't buy happiness really hit home.

I think this topic is a pressing issue that we have to think about in this day and age when materialistic values continue to rise.
