What's the function of poverty?

Saying that poverty helps solve poverty is not much different from saying that a state of hunger makes you full. Is it a function of trash that allows you to clean up? 

There is a sentence, "Give bread to the hungry, and let the breadwinners starve of justice." I feel dry in a society where matter is equally distributed arithmetically to all. Isn't the added value of bread when a person with five loaves distributes all five loaves to 10 people the meaning of poverty?

This blog is a digital forum where students from Spring 2024 class in Invitation to Sociology at the Hanyang University in Korea will discuss their weekly readings and activities.
