Social inequality
1. Meaning of lack of equality of results (general)
2. Lack of equality in access to opportunities
Occur when resources within society are unevenly distributed
- often as a result of unequal allocation practices that produce distinct inequality patterns based on the category of socially defined people
Differences in approaches to social goods -> Influences of factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, and class
In general, income or wealth inequality distribution base
-> Related to economic inequality
Economics, Sociology: Using different theoretical approaches to investigate and explain economic inequality
However, active participation in both areas
Social and natural resources other than pure economic resources: uneven distribution in most societies, contributing to social status
Allocation norms: access to public goods, impact on financial services
an interesting point
It was surprising that most social and natural resources were also distributed unevenly within society itself, and I think this is also a big problem with the contribution of status. However, it is not yet easy to find a fundamental and definite way to solve the natural difference in approaches based on social goods depending on age, class, and race.
a question or discussion
What are the fundamental measures that can solve social and economic inequality at once? Are there any policies or measures being implemented overseas?
I believe that the problem of social and economic inequality is so complex and multifaceted that there is no one fundamental measure that can solve it all at once. Firstly, inequality is not only reflected in the distribution of income and wealth, but also in many other dimensions such as education, health, housing, employment opportunities and social status. Each of these aspects requires different policies and measures to address. And addressing inequality may touch existing interest groups, causing them to resist change. Such a game of interests increases the difficulty of implementing fundamental change.
