1. Summary
Social stratification refers to the classification of individuals in a society into groups based on various socioeconomic factors. It determines each individual's relative social position by taking into account factors such as wealth, income, race, education, ethnicity, gender, occupation, and social status. These classifications mainly form hierarchies that reflect differences in authority and benefits. As social complexity increases, this stratification becomes more diverse.
2. Mention of any new, interesting
Zygmunt Bauman's argument mentioned in the article emphasizes that people with high wealth mobility have more opportunities. This came as interesting because it is an important topic in the rapidly changing economic and technological environment in modern society.
It seems that it can have a positive or negative impact on social stratification. It is likely that the higher classes, who have more opportunities to access technology, will have more and more negative consequences of gaining vested rights, or on the contrary, it can act as an opportunity for all classes to experience development together and send a positive signal.
