 1. Summary

The classification of people into groups based on social and political factors such as wealth, income, race, gender, education, and ethnicity is called social stratification. 

Social stratification is the distribution of the relative positions that individuals or groups occupy in society. Social stratification plays an important role in determining access to and distribution of economic, political, and cultural resources in a society. Social stratification is one of the main concepts used to describe inequality in society.

Social stratification can be measured in a variety of ways. The most common ways include income, education, occupation, and status. It also plays an important role in determining a person's access to resources and power.

Social stratification affects all aspects of society, especially education, health, crime, political participation, etc. It has an overall impact on an individual's life chances and prospects.


2. Interesting Things

Social stratification is a very interesting and complex topic because it affects every aspect of society. How is social stratification formed and maintained? How does social stratification explain inequality in society? How does social stratification affect the lives of individuals? These questions make the study of social stratification interesting.

Social stratification is also a very controversial topic. Some people argue that social stratification is unfair and divides society. On the other hand, others argue that social stratification makes society more efficient and contributes to social progress. This debate stems from differing views on how social stratification affects society. 

While I believe that social stratification is a very complex topic that is difficult to fully understand, I don't believe that increasing social stratification is good for social interaction. I believe that as stratification becomes more pronounced, there is a tendency to exclude other strata and to make fewer attempts to integrate. In conclusion, the study of social stratification is a starting point for understanding and addressing inequality and social development in society.


3. Questions

The gap between the rich and poor in South Korea's social stratification is widening by the day. In South Korea, education is one of the criteria for access to wealth. In the past, those with the ability could easily become vested interests, but today, only those who are vested from birth can have wealth. What are some ways to solve this social phenomenon?

    First of all, in terms of education, we need to increase investment and eliminate the imbalance of educational resources so that all students can receive a high-quality education by expanding public education support. And in terms of economy, inequality can be alleviated by realizing income redistribution policies or strengthening social safety nets. In addition, inequality can be resolved by expanding employment opportunities and fair employment.
