 Summary

Dramaturgy is a sociological perspective that analyzes everyday social interactions by comparing them to plays. This theory proposed by Irving Goughman sees that people direct themselves to the 'audience' on the 'stage' as 'actors'. Here, the 'front stage' means an action performed publicly, and the 'back stage' means an action performed privately. Individuals play various roles according to social situations, and through this, they try to be recognized by others.

Interesting point

I found out that there is such a theory, and I can see that I sometimes do this behavior. The idea of directing myself through this dramaturgy was novel.

Question

Can "Truman" from the movie "Truman Show" be selected as an example of "dramartrugy"?
