 1. Summary

Social structure refers to relationships and ties between individuals or groups of individuals, and exhibits relatively continuous behavior within society. Structures can be thought of as natural development or social manipulation. Some believe that they are developed by economic or political factors, while others argue that they are socially formed and that they may be influenced by the power of the elite or economic systems that emphasize competition and cooperation. Modern social structure analysis utilizes various techniques, through which efforts are being made to understand various aspects of social life.

2. Mention of any new. interesting

In Giddens' theory of structuring, it was interesting that the structure is not independent of the actor, but rather the actor forms and maintains the structure. This emphasizes the duality between the individual and the structure in the view that the structure is continuously reproduced by the actor. Through this content, it was possible to overcome the dichotomous thinking that has traditionally appeared in sociological and anthropological theories and to understand the complexity.

3. Discussion

How does the social structure affect individual behavior? I want to explore how treatment in the workplace according to gender affects individual behavior, or how individuals change or reproduce the social structure.

Comments

  1. How does social structure affect individual behavior? Let me answer the question. Social structure has various effects on individual behavior. Let me say two main things. The first is social norms and expectations. Social structure forms norms and expectations of socially accepted behavior. Individuals compare their behavior to their surrounding social environment, and can control or adopt behavior accordingly. The second is social myths and values. Social structure forms and propagates specific values and beliefs. Individuals can adopt socially accepted values and beliefs to be recognized and respected

  2. Social structures influence how we behave. For example, men and women may be treated differently at work. This type of discrimination can prevent individuals from performing their best at work. So individuals can often change social structures or influence their perpetuation. For example, we can overcome gender-based prejudice and pursue gender equality, or change social structures by having men and women no longer adhere to different roles and cooperate instead.
