W 12.2 May 24 (Fri) - Kim solhwi/김솔휘

 -Summary

Today's theme, social class, means that individuals in a society are arranged hierarchically according to various factors such as wealth, income, social status, jobs, and power. The poetry class is used to explain inequality within social structures. The social class consists of elements such as class, status, power, and education. For example, there are caste systems in India or classification in the West.

- Interesting point

What's interesting about the social class is that you can move between classes. In the past, if you were born in the lower class, you would continue to live in the lower class, and my later generations would continue to live in the lower class, but today, your parents' class has little effect. It was interesting that if you put enough effort into it, you could go up to your class, or if you don't, you could go down.

- Discussion

What do you think is the most important factor for the multiple factors to work with hierarchical movement?

Comments

  1. I believe that the most important thing in class mobility is capital. If you look at the basic division of classes, the element of capital is the biggest factor. Based on the division of social classes into those who had the means of production and those who did not, capital can be seen as the most important factor. However, today, capital that is different from general capital is considered important. How much information can be obtained? The ability to collect information can be seen as the most important capital.
