1.Summary
1) Socioeconomics
Socioeconomics, a discipline that studies how economic activities that occur in the market affect society and how formation processes occur, analyzes the development and decline of modern society due to the global economy and local economy. These socioeconomic markets are affected by environmental factors such as deforestation, natural disasters, and marine pollution, and are also affected by changes in households. Deforestation is a result of land expansion due to population growth, which causes serious damage to the natural environment. The impacts of marine pollution include damaging fisheries and negatively impacting surrounding communities. Household changes also affected the social environment. In the past, nuclear families consisted mainly of two parents and children living in the same house, but now the number of single-person households has increased. This means increased direct energy consumption and takes up more land space. Through this, we can see that various situational factors that have a negative impact on the environment create a domino effect that is ultimately revealed to society.
2) Economic Sociology
Economic sociology, a discipline that studies the social causes and consequences of various economic phenomena, is a field at the intersection of economics and sociology. It can be analyzed by dividing it into the classical era and the modern era. In the classical era, economic phenomena are analyzed using a new approach. We study social structure at a fundamental level, emphasizing the role of economic structures and institutions in society. Modern economic sociology covers a variety of topics, including individual behavior and the role of government.
2. Interesting points
While reading these two Wikipedias, I had a hard time distinguishing the difference between economic sociology and social economics. However, it was easy to understand that in reality, the two are sometimes treated and used as synonyms. Also, in the socio-economics section, it was interesting to note that changes in the number of households can affect the environment. I had simply focused on the low birth rate issue as the number of single-person households was increasing in modern society, but my thinking changed when I realized that it could also have an impact on environmental pollution.
3. discussion
In conclusion, what is the difference between social economics and economic sociology? So what do they also have in common?
