Q: Should we transform our representative democracies to direct democracies and make politicians obsolete?

 A politician who can see a country's situation, devise policies to respond to it, persuade a majority, and eventually realize his or her ideas is, in a sense, an expert. But what happens when citizens start to engage in politics directly, leaving them behind? Could they make immature judgments based on their lack of experience and choose a path to ruin rather than a breakthrough? Of course, politicians can make bad choices, but they have the power of the people to control them. It's hard to imagine that a direct democracy that fully exercises our sovereignty would have a button to control it.
